Find your info valuable. Am new gout sufferer. Love my beer & seafood. Alas ... no more for the beer at least. Exquisite pain... excruciating during acute attacks. Ouch! Having a background in Acupuncture I use acupoints to help manage the pain and allow me to sleep at night along with Indomethacine 25 gm. - 2 pills just before bed. Comfrey root poultice over dmso helps also. Now, I am doing my research homework. Some massage to Kidney 1 & 2 points on foot helps with temporary relief. I electro-stimulate other acupoints including some ear points as well. If you would be interested, I can pass along my research info on these points that can be used in acute attacks. In any event thanks for the informative web site. My dad suffered from gout. One research paper I read stated 25% have hereditary disposition. Your 90% genetic factor is worth more of my research. Fascinating subject. Good Fortune in all your endeavors. Ken
